Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Bumpwise ("Bumpwise," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Bumpwise iOS app or our website at bumpwise.app (together, the "Services"). Bumpwise provides flight turbulence forecasts so travelers can know what to expect before they board.

By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

We collect only the information needed to operate Bumpwise:

• Email address, collected when you sign in with Apple. This may be a private Apple relay address if you choose to hide your email.
• Account identifier, the user ID provided by Sign in with Apple, used to link your account and saved data.
• Flight searches, including the routes, flight numbers, and dates you look up, and the turbulence forecast generated for each search.
• Purchase history, including subscription and in-app purchase events such as the product purchased, transaction identifiers, and trial status.

We do not collect:

• Passwords. Sign in with Apple is the only way to create an account.
• Precise location stored on our servers or transmitted to us. The app may request location permission only to center the in-app map on your device; that location never leaves your device.
• Advertising identifiers.
• Cross-app or cross-site tracking data.
• Names, phone numbers, contacts, or health data (unless you choose to share your name through Apple Sign In, which we do not require).

We use the information above to:

• Provide and operate the app, including accounts, turbulence forecasts, and purchases.
• Prevent abuse, including rate limiting.
• Understand how the product is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or tracking.

We use trusted service providers to run Bumpwise. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide the Services:

• Supabase — our database and authentication backend.
• RevenueCat — manages subscriptions and purchases; receives purchase data tied to your account identifier.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple and In-App Purchases.

To generate forecasts, we also send flight and airport queries to FlightAware, and route coordinates to Mapbox and Open-Meteo/NOAA, to fetch flight and weather data. These providers receive the search query only, not your identity.

• Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). This removes your profile, saved searches, and purchase records from our database.
• Access and deletion requests: You may contact us at contact@snowflake.studio to request access to or deletion of your data.

Additional rights for California and European/UK residents are described in the sections below.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion or correction, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Categories we collect: identifiers (email address and Apple account identifier), commercial information (purchase and subscription history), and internet or app activity related to your flight searches and forecasts.

To exercise your rights, email contact@snowflake.studio. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to data portability where applicable.

We process your data to provide the Services you request (contract), to improve and secure the app (legitimate interests), and where required, with your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based.

We keep account data until you delete your account. Purchase records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, or other legal purposes, even after account deletion where the law requires it.

We store data with our service providers using industry-standard protections, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Bumpwise is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at contact@snowflake.studio and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy, except where further consent is required by law.
